You’re invited to dinner!

A dinner in NE Tacoma to help people in two Guatemalan villages prepare their dinners in a safer, more healthful way. What could be better?

The Marine View PC/Hands for Peacemaking Guatemala team is once again hosting a dinner (or late lunch if you prefer) this Sunday, March 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church’s East Campus building (a former elementary school) at 8469 East Side Dr NE, Tacoma, WA 98422. There is no charge to attend, but attendees will be given an opportunity to support this spring’s mission.

The terrific crew at Iglesia Cristiana LA VOZ church in Federal Way, led by Odillia Gonzales, will again prepare a scrumptious and authentic Guatemalan meal for us. You will also meet the team members and learn more about the two Mayan villages where we will work, Las Limas and El Moxon in the Huehuetenango/Barillas district in the western highlands area of the country.

This year’s team is 13 members strong, and is comprised of both adults and teens. With your help we will install 110 wood stoves in village homes, which replace open fires used traditionally used for cooking, as well as water filters for clean drinking, and hand-sewn potholders with each stove. Gift packs for each school-aged child will also be distributed by the team.

This is our one BIG event before we go! We would appreciate a head count, so please sign up today at https://marineviewchurch.breezechms.com/form/5a0eb041.

If you cannot make it but would still like to support our team, you may do so via this link – choose Give to Guatemala Mission/Guatemala Mission in the drop-down menu. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you!

With blessings and warm regards,

Brian

P.S. Some of you may be on our recipient list because you are affiliated with members of last year’s Marine View team. We welcome your support and attendance, but understand if you unsubscribe. I am also delighted to report that one of last year’s team members, in fact my twin brother Greg, has initiated his own team through the Fauntleroy UCC and the West Seattle Rotary. Greg’s team is funded separately – monies raised from the Marine View dinner will support the Marine View mission.
