Today’s post will be more in photos than in words as it is very late and all of the team but your blogger is fast asleep. Suicidal bugs have found their way under the mosquito netting and are being squished with my fingers as they land on the glowing phone screen.
After church this morning the team packed up for the village. This time we boarded a bus rather than the Hands for Peacemaking vehicles so we could all travel together.
Tom brought some extra soccer balls and it was great fun to toss a couple out the window to unsuspecting youth as we drove by then look back as they gleefully played with them. Ed and Winnie entertained us with the ukulele and the melodica, a keyboard that you play by blowing into it.
It took nearly three and a half hours to reach Piedris Blancas over mostly rugged roads – the kind best suited for Jeep travel. But it was all worth it when we arrived to a warm welcome of the entire village, with lots of welcoming hugs, handshakes, fireworks and speeches.
Tomorrow the stove installation begins right after breakfast. We are all well, in great spirits and looking forward to our task.

Praying for your team and wishing everyone good health & relationships as you work. Much love…
Love the updates Brian! Our hearts are with you and the team. Mike and I just said last night we wish we could be there too! Praying for the teams safety and good health while you improve lives and spread Gods love! You all are doing great work! Have fun banging out those stoves! 🙂
It is so great to get these updates! If you run into wifi, it would be awesome to hear you do some live FB…but even with the photos, it is truly a blessing to follow along as your group interacts with the folks there.
Great to see that you arrive safe and sound. Hope you have great weather to get all of your to do list done with all the installing of the stove. Make sure you eat well and relax and get a good sleep. Look forward to your daily reports. Mary Altena
